This is an ACA sanctioned event. All participants must wear a PFD. Non-HASK participants must sign a waiver. See all rules at the bottom of this page.

Directions from 610 North at US-59. Drive North on US-59 for 8.4 miles. Cross Beltway-8, continue on US-59 for 9.4 more miles.  Take the Kingwood Dr Exit just North of Humble, turning right. Go 2.2 miles on Kingwood Drive, turning right on Woodland Hills. Go 1.7 miles to River Grove Park. Drive to the boat ramp in the back.
 
Drive to and drop off boats and gear at the put in just to the left of the concrete boat ramp. The put-in is nice grassy spot with a shallow sandy bottom. Parking for non Kingwood residents is at the soccer fields. (See photo below)

Paddle down the "San Jac" to Lake Houston and back up to the put-in stopping for lunch at Sharkey's or Puerto Tacos & Cervezas in Kings Harbor as decided by democratic vote.

 

 

 

 

  

Hazards:  Potential cold weather at this time of year. Dress appropriately. Completion of assisted re-entry training is strongly recommended. Participants without this training must paddle with someone who has.

Waivers - Please complete our easy to use online waiver if you are a HASK member who has not signed a waiver within the last 12 months or a non- HASK participant. Read the waiver carefully.  You give up substantial rights when you sign it.

  • Add Smartwaiver with email address “noreply@smartwaiver.com” to your address book to ensure emails do not go to junk/spam.
  • Select a link below to complete the online waiver. 
    • HASK members should always choose the Annual Waiver option and leave the Name of the Event and Activity Date blank.
    • Non-HASK event participants should always choose the One Time Event Waiver option and specify the Name of the Event and Activity Date

  • Respond to the “Confirm your E-Signature” email from ACA / HASK to confirm your email address.  Wavier is now complete and valid.
  • You will receive a confirmation email. Please download and print a copy of the waiver and bring it to the trip put-in. 

 

Guests – You are welcome to join us for a couple of paddle trips.  HASK will cover the $5 ACA event membership for non-ACA members. Hopefully you will then join HASK and continue paddling with us.
