The group will meet at the Public Boat Ramp at Dickinson Bayou beneath TX-146.  Arrive by 8:30 AM and be ready to launch by 9:00 a.m. Please be prepared to paddle for at least 2 hours. The exact route will be determined depending on weather conditions. Depending on the wind, there is Level 1, 2, and 3 paddling available within a short distance of this site.  We will choose a route to maintain Level 1 - 2 conditions. If it's really windy, we'll paddle upstream on Dickinson Bayou. If it's really calm, we may go into Moses Lake.

Directions to the Put-in:  From downtown Houston, drive south on I-45 to FM517, about 28 miles from downtown Houston.  Drive east on 517 for approximately 6.5 miles to TX-146.  Turn right and drive south on 146 for approximately .5 miles.  Exit 146 to the right just before the bridge and go to the public boat ramp below the bridge.

Lat-lon of put-in:   29° 27.736'N,  94° 58.453'W

Hazards:  HEAT. The launch is adjacent to a boat ramp.  We must be watchful for traffic on land and in the water.  Boat traffic will be present once on the water.  There are barges moored along the bayou.  There can be a range of boats present on the water.  Each person should have plenty of water and sunscreen and rain gear. Bring snacks for a quick stop somewhere along the route.
