Level 2 Trip Description: Meet up at The Fish Spot in Texas City. Let's use common sense COVID precautions, Based on current guidance from club leadership: 1. Non-vaccinated people should wear masks and distance from others. Vaccinated people need not. 2. If you have COVID symptoms or have recent significant exposure, please stay home. These are on the honor system. You are welcome to exercise additional precautions if you wish. If you want the group to take additional measures, you are welcome to request them and we will attempt to honor them out of mutual respect and concern.
Directions to the Put-in: Take I-45 South to Texas City. Exit at "16". Take the Emmett Lowry Expressway flyover I-45. Proceed for 8.2 miles. Cross Hwy 146, turn Left on Smith St [Note short jog 7-blocks away from Hwy 146 Service Rd]. Drive 1 mile to 25th Ave. Turn right, drive 1.4 miles, turn left on 23rd St. for 10 blocks. Turn right on 36th Ave for 3 blocks, turn left again on 20th St. The Fish Spot / Moses Lake Marina is 4 blocks on your left. Hazards: Late Spring conditions, Warm, breezy (10-13 mph SE winds), choppy waters possible. 25% chance of showers. Have a rain jacket. Trip Leader(s) may adjust the route at any time to favor the wind if necessary. Will only go if conditions are favorable. Expect some weekday boat traffic, mostly fishermen and some oyster boats as they make their way to the flood gate (which we will avoid)
