I cannot adequately describe this unique part of South Louisiana. I'm hoping you will let me share it with you.

I placed payment for three (3) cabins at Lake End Park on Lake Palourde (French for Clam) in Morgan City, LA which is 14 miles (30 mininte scenic drive) from Gros Marina.

Expected fee: $110 - $70 depending on the bed chosen*. The cabins are $175 / night on weekends, $350 for both nights. No tax, booking or cleaning fees.   To register, mail me a $70 deposit to:

Kingwood, TX   77339     Your payment records are available for inspection at any time.

Balance due on 5-1-15.  If we have group meals and you participate at any level you are asked to contribute food or cash ahead of time to the majority provider. Food will be served at Gros Marina Saturday afternoon. Leroy usually cooks something like shrimp stew or crawfish etouffe. We may not know until we take out. Unless you have food allergies I ask that we all patronize Gros Marina for allowing us to park and launch there.

To get to the Cabins: Enter "Lake End Park" in your navigation device.  Then check in at the park office: .

We will make 3 planned paddle trips: Most paddle trips will originate from Gros Marina. Other excursions include Flat Lake directly across the levee from the cabins.

 Cabin Interior

*Each of the three cabins (4, 5, & 6) have:

1.) 1 Private Room with a Queen Bed - $110 Reserved for Couples on a First Come / First Serve order. That's $110 for the room, not per person.

2.) The 2nd room has 1 Full Size Bed $90; and also in the 2nd room...

3.) One set of Bunks, both twin mattresses.  $80 for a lower, and $70 for an upper bunk. There is a ladder to the top bunk. Top "Bunkies" can bring a cot instead.

As of 3/14/18: There are 3 top bunks and one bottom bunk available.

All pricing is for the both nights. I will keep a detailed track of who registers, when, and which bed.  I don't care who sleeps where, so I hope you don't.

If you want to come one day early or stay one day extra, its $100 / night for any of these cabins.   Note:  I'm planning I will do just that along with a few other folks, checking out on Monday.    Book early if making extended stay plans, call 985-380-4623

Sheets are provided. I suggest you bring your own towels.  We are limited to about 15-18 people on this event depending on couples. You or I can book another cabin with advanced notice.

Check in 3 pm, check out is Sunday at 11 am.

I plan to boil Crawfish on Saturday night.

Hazards: Mainly motor boats and personal water craft. They did not bother us in the past and I expect the same.  Do not paddle too close to the bank. It is hard to scan everything for snakes and gators.

The nearest grocery store is Rouse's in Morgan City. There is a convenience store at the entrance to Stephensville.
