Willie Younger has secured a wonderful place to do primitive camping in Southeast Texas on Carancahua Creek.  We will paddle the secluded creek on Saturday and there will be an option to paddle Sunday morning as well.  If you bring non-paddling guests, the city of Victoria will have its Christmas Bazaar (flea market).

There will be
abundant parking, tent sites, potable water and plenty of firewood available for all, but no bathrooms.

We will do a moderate (~10 miles) paddle on Saturday and a shorter (6?) one on Sunday morning according to the wishes of the group. Let's paddle off at 10 AM on Saturday and plan Sunday on the fly, but plan to drive home early or mid-afternoon on Sunday.

Directions:  See map below for directions to the gate to the property.  The town of La Ward or Francitas should be easy to find on your GPS or map of Texas for the digitally averse.

You will have the option to camp Friday/Saturday night and paddle Saturday(and Sunday), paddle Saturday (and Sunday) and camp Saturday night or just make it a day paddle trip Saturday.

Please contact me as to which option you are choosing when you sign up.

You can contact me or Willie (cell number 979-240-4872 and email w-younger@att.net) for any more details.
