Assistant Trip Leader: Bob Scaldino Join us for a wonderful 3 day weekend at Lake Buchanan this Memorial weekend. Planned trips are as follows: -Touring the waterfalls: 4.5 miles one way to Fall Creek Falls with a possible extension to Ashby (+2.5 miles) and/or further up to Deer Creek Falls (+1.5). To see all three falls would be a 17 mile round trip endeavor. -Tour to Garrett Island and back which is a 5 mile round trip without any detours. -Possible wine tour at Fall Creek Vineyards: Paddle across the lake and stroll up the vineyard to their tasting room and/or lunch. -Possible cave tour at Lone Star Cavern State Park. Plan on making your own lodging decisions at COE or nearby. Some of us are staying in the RV park. Tent camping and Resort accommodations are also available. There are lots of alternatives to kayaking if you are looking for things to do on Memorial weekend.
