Aleut and Greenland Paddles
Paddles are free-for-the-taking for intermediate or expert paddlers. One per customer.
I have six wooden native paddles I would like to find good homes for. Can send you pictures.
My first Aleut paddle, commercially carved spruce. My go-to paddle for 5+ years after years of Greenland paddling. The Aleut paddle gives you the best of the euro-blade and the best of the Greenland stick in single format.
Next are two paddles I carved. Western red cedar for the spine and Alaskan yellow cedar for the outer strips. Became my go-to paddles as soon as they were carved.
Next is a commercially carved Aleute paddle which I modified. Good for a small person someone 5'5" or so.
Next a commercially carved Greenland paddle. This was my go-to paddle for about 5 years when I was learning to paddle open water. West red cedar. Great paddle.
Lastly, a commercially carved Greenland Storm Paddle. Had to have one. Had to learn how to use it. It is great fun to learn the slide stroke. Holding this paddle is like having a handful of "velvet air".
Will deliver to Houston when I have other items that need to go there.
