What is this?
Bayshore Park is a well-maintained public park with boat ramp. There is a large shelter with picnic table, and rest rooms.
This is an opportunity to work on strokes and rescues, wet exits and rolling, in moving water. There is a large area of sheltered water (i.e. very small waves) adjacent the boat ramp, and the possibility of more texture a short distance offshore (depending on wind direction). Depending who is there, you might get a chance to try out the kayak you've been admiring from a distance.
Or you could just relax by the water in a comfy chair. Bring some cool drinks, nibbles and a big hat ! Bayshore Park is a great place to watch the yachts and big ships out in the bay.
Normal HASK safety rules apply. Non-members must sign a HASK waiver. PFD must be worn at all times on the water. Spray skirts must not be used unless the paddler is comfortable doing a wet exit.
