Starting from Everglades City at the Everglades National Park Gulf Coast Visitor Center we will spend 5 days and 4 nights padding in the mangroves along the Florida Coast.  The basic plan is to put in Monday, travel between the islands and among the mangroves each day to a new beach campsite returning to the launch location Friday evening. The trip dates include two days of travel time to and two days returning for the put-in.

The actual itinerary will depend on availability of campsites  as well as the need to adapt to the conditions.  From our put-in we have the option of entering the 10,000 Island NWR or the Everglades National Park.  The paddling will likely be about 10 miles each day.  Sometimes we will be navigating the sheltered channels between the Mangroves and other times we will be along the Gulf and dealing with the wind and swell.  All camping will be primitive and will require us to carry all of our supplies for the week including fresh water.

Because there is a limit of 6 people in a group at the National Park primitive camp sites this event is limited to a total of 6 participants.
