Here is a good opportunity to round out your Labor Day Weekend at a lake close to Houston. Come join in the fun at the First Ever Kickapoo Creek Canoe and Kayak Weekend hosted by our friends at the Houston Canoe Club. Bring your RV, stay in a condo (cabin) or bring your tent and camp in the shade right on the water. There is a little something for everybody at the Broken Arrow Lodge and Marina on Kickapoo Creek, located on the northeast corner of Lake Livingston near Onalaska.
Over the weekend we will paddle to a waterfall and explore the area around it, paddle up Kickapoo Creek, explore several sloughs and creeks that feed in to the main creek, photograph, fish, grill, socialize, play cards, dominos or just relax and enjoy the cool breeze in the shade. Skill Level: Neophyte
I will be staying in a condo and have reserved additional condos and 2 tent sites so far. The condos have 3 double beds and can sleep 3-6 (depending on the level of friendship), a small full kitchen and bathroom with a shower. Cost is $96.05 including tax, per night, 3 night minimum. The tent sites have water and electric and can accommodate 3 tents per site. Tent camping is $10.00 per whole weekend per person. There are restrooms on the grounds and I am opening my condo for shower use for campers.

It’s all close proximity but plenty of space to spread out. If you want to be a part of this exciting trip, rsvp soon as space may be limited. In your rsvp, please indicate how many are in your party and if you want a condo or tent site. You can view my pictures of the area on the HCC website.
