About this event

For me, the most comfortable viewing of Austin's annual HEB/Austin Symphony and Fireworks is from my kayak or canoe with friends on Lady Bird Lake near downtown Austin.  Join Lynn Vance and me at our home for Fajitas (chicken or bean), non alcoholic drinks (before paddling or driving) and socializing starting at around 2pm on the 4th of July this year.

Symphony and Fireworks from kayak on Austin's town lake.  Before 5p, we'll meet at the the Rowing Dock access on the South side of the lake (or possibly the North access at Austin High) to secure parking and paddle the woodsy part of the lake.  Then, we'll settle in for listening to partriotic symphonic music followed by City of Austin's best fireworks.  Life jacket and all-around light (to turn on only to prevent collision) required. Low-light sticks, rope to tie together) or anchor optional.

Group can plan paddling trip in the area for next day.  I have a limited number of kayaks and canoes if needed and arranged in advance.  Helpful links include
