Trip Description: Paddle to Lone Oak Bayou from Job Beason Park, Oak Island, explore bayou a bit, return to park. The bayou meanders through remote and beautiful marshland. Approx 10 - 12 miles total, level 2 mainly due to distance.

Job Beason Park - Lone Oak Bayou involves paddling south along the coast of Trinity Bay and then entering Lone Oak Bayou for a bit.
This route remains relatively close to the bayshore. There are bailout opportunities. Current forecast is for light wind and small waves. If the wind and waves are high, I may substitute a different trip. Check your gas gauge before you drive south of Anahuac.
Our main concern will be heat and dehydration. Be sure to have good sun protection and at least two quarts of water. There is no water resupply. There is a slight chance of some rain, so have rain gear handy in your boat. Other hazards may include the usual oysters, alligators, fire ants, boat traffic, pilings, sunburn, heat plus the thrill of possible bears, rattlesnakes, and taratulas. Bring ample water, lunch, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent.
