As we say good-by to our cozy Theo’s meeting location for what, maybe 10 years, we welcome in a new “trial” location at Midtown Bar & Grill.  Thanks to Fleet Captain Robin Hartman for trolling Houston for meeting venues. See you there!

Charriss York - Water Quality, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (Confirmed)

1) learning about the water quality of the bays and bayous in which we kayak (including where we can get good data!)

2) contributors to poor water quality specific to Texas bays and bayous

3) the restoration / mitigation efforts that are underway in communities and regions that are having an impact on improved water quality

4) what we can do as individuals to contribute to improving water quality

5) observable effects on wildlife distribution

6) How invasive species (plant and animal) take advantage of changes in water quality or oxygen content, or if they suffer along with the native species, or if there are specific ones that thrive in the altered environments to our collective disadvantage.
