This is an ACA sanctioned event. All participants in ACA-insured activities must wear properly-fitting U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejackets (Personal Flotation Devices, or PFDs) at all times during on-water activities. Non-HASK participants must sign a waiver. See all rules at the bottom of this page.

This is primarily a Wednesday Dec. 12 paddle with optional accommodations to reduce drive time. Site #05 on the South Loop facing the Colorado River at the Matagorda Bay Nature Park hasbeen reserved. This site is ok for 2-3 tents and only 2 vehicles. Extra vehicle must be parked in the common area for a small fee.

 

The contact info is on this event page to book other campsites. There are about 3 other places in Matagorda to stay. Paddles wet at 10:30 AM, giving time to drive to the put-in.

There will be places to get out for breaks and lunch.



The secondary paddle event is Tuesday Dec. 11. Destination to be determined / and details forthcoming as the number of potential Tuesday attendees is confirmed.

Guests – You are welcome to join us for a couple of paddle trips.  HASK will cover the $5 ACA event membership for non-ACA members. Hopefully you will then join HASK and continue paddling with us.
