STATUS: CONFIRMED
Paul Brown, US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Commander / Coxswain, and Stan Vaughan will cover the following points and entertain questions:
1. Safety for our kind of craft and for areas we would paddle
2. How we might be able to help them (SAR exercises?)
3. How USCGAUX interact with other agencies -
US Coast Guard, US Coast Guard Reserve, Police/Sheriff departments, USGS, Department of Health and private agencies (Texas A&M Research, etc.) - and who we would call for different situations
4. A compelling small craft rescue story with Lessons Learned for us.
Registration is highly recommended for this meeting. This will allow us to give the restaurant a better estimate of attendance. The restaurant can then better accommodate us with the room arrangement and sufficient servers. Be sure to register all family members and guest (companions).
